Château Laoutr

Art piece inspired from Château d’Yquem. Considered one of the most prestigious wines in the world, Château d’Yquem is the only sweet wine of Sauternes classified 1er Cru Supérieur in the famous classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855. The Château d’Yquem benefits from a unique geographical location. Located on the highest hill of Sauternes, the vineyard stretches over 148 hectares and the slant of its slopes is optimal. The unique characteristics of this wine come from a fungus called Botrytis cinerea which grows on the vine; It is called a “noble rot”. The Castle’s undertake specific production methods in order to showcase all the aromatic properties of this mushroom, which gives its unique mix of sweetness and bitterness.
