ALEJANDRO MONTES DE OCA
In this series of Gigrove Stories, where we interview our users, we had a chat with one e-commerce specialist from Mexico. We asked him to tell his story, to tell us about his business and his experience with e-commerce.
My name is Alejandro Montes de Oca, I live in Guadalajara, Mexico. I have experience in digital marketing since 2002. This year we have consolidated in the area of digital business development and the development of online stores.
What does your business do?
We cover different parts of e-commerce, depending on the client needs. From web design, online store development, campaigns on Google Adwords as well digital development strategies.
Huge part of my activities during the day also involve researching the SEO/SEM positioning of my clients, analyzing digital trends, developing content for social networks, and similar.
Running an e-commerce business posses many challenges. Which challenges your clients face from your experience?
In Mexico we are 3 years ahead of the digital development, today we are evangelizing the e-commerce process, we offer solutions for the small business to help them move their businesses online. However, with the older generation, there is a fear of change – and we try to remove the fears with education.
In your experience, what makes the happy client?
I would say that it’s really important to listen to their needs, to acknowledge that they are a human being and not a machine in a digital environment.
Which character treat is important for people who are about to start their e-commerce business?
Adaptation. I think that when the business owner posses this, goals in the e-commerce sphere are achieved much easier.
